Three of my favorite shots from a recent portrait job. Linda wanted an environmental portrait over a candlelight dinner. I wanted to light her only by candlelight (I've never done a portrait with only candlelight before). It was a challenge but a lot of fun! I think it came out quite lovely. I did some split-tone black and white conversions, too, just for fun.

Grandpa Harold's 90th Birthday

What a milestone! My paternal grandfather celebrated his 90th birthday on November 16th. I was lucky enough to be able to be there with him in Idaho to celebrate his big day along with other family members and friends. Here are a few of my favorite snaps from the day. Love you, grandpa!

Both of the images used for these necklaces are examples of my vintage, faded photo process--I think it adds to the antique keepsake quality of the pieces.

New Album Offering: "Brilliant" Glossy Metallic Sheen Photo Cover

In addition to leather, cloth and metal covers, I now offer a full-bleed photo cover album. The cover design is printed on photographic paper with a protective laminate coating that creates a beautiful, unique metallic sheen. From a single panoramic, full-bleed image spanning both covers to a large collage wrapping around the cover, the album can be designed to any taste or occasion.

Like my other album offerings, the "Brilliant" Album features true silver-halide Kodak Endura prints mounted on archival pages. I custom design the layout of the album with your image choices.


This album has excellent lay flat properties with the smallest page seam in the industry at less than 1 mm to keep it from interrupting the integrity of two-page spread designs.


Albums can be created for many subjects, not just weddings. Consider an album for children's portraits, maternity portraits, family portraits, senior portraits, music or theater performances, etc. Albums can also be designed to use as a guest album at your wedding--using images from your engagement portrait session, I can design an album that displays images on the left side and faded parchment paper on the right side for guest signing.

The "Brilliant" Album comes with a pillowcase slipcover packaged in a black presentation box. Like my other albums, it comes in various sizes and shapes--square, panoramic and rectangular.

Baby Portraits: Micah in Corvallis, Oregon

Micah is such a sweet little baby boy! He's about 2 months old, and allowed me quite a lot of time to photograph him.


It wasn't until the very last shot that his sweet countenance started to falter. But I have to say I do love his little expression as he thought about getting grumpy.

I had a very enjoyable shoot with a lovely girl a few days ago. She's a big fantasy novel fan and has a huge backyard at her house. So I decided to set up the shoot in her yard and do post-processing on the images to make them dreamy and ethereal, to look like a place that could be part of a magical world.



Her sweet chocolate labs joined us for a few shots, too.

Want more print credit for final prints than your package contains? You can purchase additional print credit before and until time of shoot for a 20% savings off normal print prices. (For example you can prepay $80 for print credit and use it to order $100 worth of prints at your leisure.)
